As we enter the 2026 season, the Dom Aitro Baseball League proudly celebrates its 69th anniversary. Our field was dedicated in memory of Dom Aitro, who passed away at a young age. Vincent and Carmen Aitro devoted their lives to honoring their brother’s legacy by providing opportunities for thousands of young baseball players in New Haven to grow, learn, and enrich their lives through participation in the sport they love.

Over the years, the Dom Aitro Baseball League has hosted numerous section, region, and zone tournaments. In 1968, the league achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for the Bronco World Series in Oak Park, Illinois. The current field was originally dedicated to Dom Aitro in 1959 by then–New Haven Mayor Lee.

The Dom Aitro Baseball League continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of community volunteers and the generous support of the City of New Haven, the State of Connecticut, and the Department of Economic and Community Development.

We look forward to another exciting season of baseball!
