Entering the 2023 season, the Dom Aitro Baseball League will be celebrating its 66th anniversary.  The field was dedicated in memory of Dom Aitro, who passed away at a young age. Vincent and Carmen Aitro dedicated their lives to keeping their brothers memory alive and providing the opportunity for thousands of young baseball players in New Haven to enrich their lives though participation in the sport. The Dom Aitro Baseball League has been host to many section, region, and zone tournaments. The Dom Aitro Baseball League qualified for the 1968 Bronco World series in Oak Park, Illinois. The current field was dedicated to Dom Aitro in either 1959 by New Haven Mayor Lee.
